A street magician named Chris draws a crowd with his tricks. Joy expresses skepticism, but Chris and Gizmo insist they've never seen such realistic magic. They then travel back in time to Capernaum in the 1st century to witness Jesus of Nazareth.
Chris, Joy, and Gizmo arrive in Capernaum where they see a paralyzed man being brought to Jesus. Jesus first forgives the man's sins, then tells him to rise and walk, which he does, astonishing the crowd. Joy remains skeptical, believing it to be a trick.
Jesus teaches the parable of the sower. Later, while sailing, a sudden storm threatens the boat. Jesus rebukes the storm with a command, and the sea becomes calm, astounding Chris and others who witness his power over nature. Joy begins to question her skepticism.
The group encounters a man possessed by demons in a burial ground. Jesus commands the evil spirits to leave the man and enter a herd of pigs, which then rush into the sea and drown. This further demonstrates Jesus' power over unseen forces.
Chris realizes that Jesus has power over man, nature, and the unseen. Joy finally acknowledges that true miracles come from God. They return to their own time and confront the magician Chris, explaining that his tricks, while good, are not real miracles.
