Miguel accompanied Gelin to find a place where a genuine vodou ritual was being performed. Gelin seemed like an ordinary person, contradicting Miguel's initial expectations.
They arrived at Gelin's cousin's house where Miguel discovered a large, covered box. Inside, he found human bones, skulls, tarot cards, knives, and bloodstains. The ritual began with the box shaking violently and a voice emerging from within.
The voice, described as hoarse and slurred, spoke in Creole, addressing the people present. It noticed Miguel, a 'white man,' and later spoke to him directly in perfect Spanish, asking what he wanted.
Despite warnings about the entity being unpleasant and dangerous, Miguel insisted on seeing it. Gelin and his cousin finally allowed him to, after creating a salt barrier. Miguel saw a small, elderly, white-skinned man with an elongated beard and bloodshot yellow eyes within the box.
After the entity disappeared, Miguel learned it was not a human but a demon. Gelin explained that his cousin and brother had made a pact with this demon, exchanging their lives for seven years of prosperity. Both died on the same day years later.
Miguel wanted to film the ritual and was even offered the chance to record a child sacrifice for a large sum of money. However, the demon refused to be filmed. Years later, Miguel experienced an illness and other events exactly as the demon had predicted, solidifying his belief in the supernatural.
