Luke finds himself stranded in the Alaskan wilderness after the float plane meant to pick him up fails to arrive. He explores the rainforest, finds a historic shelter, and learns how to navigate the damp, mossy terrain.
Luke discovers a volcanic hot spring and spends time adjusting the temperature to warm up. He manages to cook a hot meal and prepares for the night, while battling cold, wet conditions and curious mice attempting to raid his gear.
The next morning, Luke attempts to hunt ducks around the lake to supplement his supplies. Despite his efforts, he remains cold and damp, forcing him to continue finding ways to dry his clothes and keep his morale up.
Luke receives news that the pilot is weathered in at Ketchikan, forcing him to bunker down further. He remains diligent in staying warm and dry until the weather breaks and the pilot can finally navigate to his location.
