Amending the range of a light onto an ADMIRALTY Standard Nautical Chart

To begin, use a grid box to reference the correct position on the chart. Then, align the tracing precisely using the latitude and longitude guides from both the tracing and the chart.

Compare the tracing with the chart to pinpoint which range needs modification. In the example, the position remains the same, but the range needs to be updated from 7m to 3m.

Using a magenta 0.18 pen and a ruler, delete the old range with a double strikethrough. Then, clearly write the new range adjacent to the deleted information, ensuring proper distinction between upper and lower case letters.

Lay the tracing back over the chart to confirm that the correct range has been amended. Once all updates are applied, add the Notice to Mariners (NM) update number to the 'Notices to Mariners' section located in the bottom left corner of the chart.
