Inserting a buoy and description onto an ADMIRALTY Standard Nautical Chart

Begin by using a grid box to reference the Notic to Mariners (NM) position on the chart. Then, align the tracing with the chart's latitude and longitude guides to pinpoint the exact location. Use a 7H pencil to mark the buoy's position through the tracing onto the chart.

Remove the tracing. Using a magenta 0.18 pen, start drawing the buoy by creating a circle on the marked spot. Complete the buoy by adding its color and flare.

With a 2B pencil and a ruler, draw a horizontal guideline for the description. Then, use the magenta 0.18 pen to write the description text exactly as it appears on the tracing, ensuring clarity and proper casing. Once done, erase all pencil markings.

Place the tracing back over the chart to verify that the buoy has been inserted correctly and the description is accurate. After applying all updates, add the NM update number to the chart's Notices to Mariners section, located in the bottom left corner.
