Summary
Highlights
Robotnik is frustrated with his robots' incompetence in catching Sonic. A fast-talking salesman, Wes Weasley, appears, introducing himself as a representative of Handy-Dandy Supervillain Appliance Distributors Limited. He pitches the 'Darkinator', a device that promises to engulf the area in darkness, thus slowing down Sonic. Robotnik is initially impressed, despite his initial dislike for Weasley.
Robotnik deploys the Darkinator, which successfully creates darkness. However, to his dismay, the infrared goggles provided to see in the dark are lost, and his robots are unable to capture Sonic. Weasley reappears, claiming the failure was due to tampering, and seamlessly transitions to selling the 'Freeze Banger', a device designed to freeze Sonic and make him immobile.
The Freeze Banger is used, but Sonic and Tails manage to turn it against Robotnik's robots, causing them to overheat and melt. Robotnik is furious. Weasley, unfazed, returns to pitch the 'Gravity Stopper', a device that eliminates gravity, promising to make Sonic's speed useless. He also offers self-gravity boots to navigate in the altered environment.
The Gravity Stopper is activated, and Sonic finds himself floating helplessly. Robotnik's robots, equipped with gravity boots, taunt him. However, Sonic realizes that with no gravity, Tails can fly him away, making escape even easier. One of Robotnik's robots eventually turns off the machine, causing everyone to fall back to the ground.
Weasley reappears, offering a refund for the gravity stopper but denying a refund for the 'self-gravity net' as it was a free throw-in. He then introduces the 'Atomizer', a device that can make things disappear and reappear. Robotnik, intrigued, tries to operate it, ignoring Weasley's warning about a mysterious red switch.
Robotnik accidentally presses the red switch on the Atomizer. Instead of making Sonic disappear, it creates five clones of him. The multiple Sonics overwhelm Robotnik and his robots. Weasley, seeing the chaos, quickly makes his escape, leaving Robotnik to deal with the consequences of his repeated failures.
Another salesman, Sid Shark, a manager from Weasley's company, appears, promising to finally deliver a working solution. He introduces the 'Hedgehog Catching Vanquisher', a super-device that combines the features of the Darkinator, Freeze Banger, and Gravity Stopper. However, the machine malfunctions, and Robotnik gets caught in its chaotic effects, leaving him suspended and tangled.
