Patrick introduces his new board game, 'Patrick: The Game,' to SpongeBob, Sandy, and Squidward. He attempts to explain the complex and convoluted rules for starting the game, including rolling dice to decide who rolls dice to pick pieces first.
SpongeBob suggests they start playing and Patrick can explain the rules as they go. Sandy's first roll lands her on 'Driver's License,' which means she can either move down the board or around the racetrack multiple times. Patrick then sends SpongeBob to jail without a clear reason.
Squidward, also in jail, questions how to get out if he can't roll dice while incarcerated. Patrick reveals that one can only get out by rolling a six or if someone says their name. Squidward eventually gets out when the others call his name.
Squidward lands on 'Do a Surgery' and is forced to remove a 'thin bone' from the player to his left, which turns out to be SpongeBob who, as an octopus, doesn't have one. Squidward grows increasingly frustrated with the game's randomness and Patrick's arbitrary rule-making, eventually leaving the game.
Patrick continues to introduce strange rules, like a 'giggle zone' and a 'silly face' space. Squidward, understanding that the rules are arbitrary, declares himself the automatic winner after rolling the dice. Patrick then makes up a new rule stating no player can declare themselves an automatic winner.
Frustrated, Squidward smashes the game board. Patrick, ever the unpredictable game master, declares 'destruction of private property' a punishable offense, leading to Squidward being taken away by police to 'real jail,' happy to escape the game. The game ends with everyone back at the beginning.
