Summary
Literacy-based textbooks to improve character and language competence of elementary students
Highlights
The primary goal of this research was to create reading literacy-based textbooks and assess their feasibility, practicality, and readability. The methodology employed was a 4D research and development model, with research instruments tailored to evaluate material, product, and linguistic aspects.
Validation experts confirmed the product's high feasibility with 95.8% for media, 95% for material, and 91.96% for language. Readability was rated at 89.83%, supported by 90.75% for language literacy story questions and 89% for character-based language story tests. These results suggest the textbooks effectively attract student attention and are interactive.
The study found that the reading literacy-based textbooks, with their engaging presentation including pictures and diverse color compositions, stimulate reading interest and foster critical thinking skills. This approach helps students acquire essential literacy skills for contemporary needs.
